Salesforce Winter '27: What Changed and What to Check Before December 1

The new Salesforce release is now live in every org. It brings AI agents for sales and service, voice in more than 30 countries, and technical changes with hard deadlines. Here are the new features with the numbers Salesforce published, and what to check before December 1.

Winter '27 is already in your org

Winter '27 is this half-year's Salesforce release. Salesforce announced it on August 31, 2026 and rolled it out in waves through the second week of October (Salesforce, Salesforce Ben). If your company runs Salesforce, you already have it: there is nothing to install.

What you do need is a review. The release is heavy on AI agents, but it also carries technical changes with deadlines that can break an integration if nobody looks in time.

This guide covers what matters for sales, service and IT teams, with a focus on companies in Central America and Miami. A table of dates to check closes it out.

Winter '27 by the numbers

These are the new features that come with a figure published by Salesforce:

FeatureThe number
Agentforce Contact CenterAvailable in more than 30 countries, with voice built into the CRM
Autonomous scheduling with Agentforce VoiceBooking an appointment drops from 15 minutes to seconds, 24/7
Agentic Commerce Search13% higher conversion and 17% higher add-to-cart rate
Agent SkillsMore than 100 prebuilt skills, plus a registry to publish your own
Dynamic service plansMore than 100 customers in the program, 4 already in production
Marketing Cloud Engagement MCP server40 new tools
Apex heap limitFrom 6 to 10 MB synchronous and from 12 to 25 MB asynchronous

Sources: Salesforce and Salesforce Developers. These are vendor figures, not independent measurements. The Agentic Commerce Search numbers come from Shopper Agent customers.

Sales: agent-led prospecting and clearer forecasts

Agentforce Prospecting, the outbound agent, gets four updates (Salesforce Ben):

  • It runs on a schedule, with a cap on prospects per rep.
  • It prioritizes contacts who engaged with your company in the last 12 months.
  • It also searches other reps' accounts and routes each prospect to its owner.
  • An activity tab shows how many records it reviewed and why it qualified or dropped each one.

Forecasting is renamed Pipeline Forecasting and now shows deal risks and activity heat maps. Agentforce Lead Nurturing becomes Agentforce Engagement, and you decide whether a person approves every email the agent sends, only the first touch, or the ones that meet set criteria.

Sales Cloud also adds a dedicated WhatsApp agent to support channel partners (Salesforce). For companies that sell through distributors, it is one to watch.

Service: voice, and plans that adjust themselves

Contact center with voice. Agentforce Contact Center is now available in more than 30 countries, with voice channels built into the CRM (Salesforce). The announcement does not list the countries, so confirm yours is covered before you plan around it.

No more booking queues. With Agentforce Voice, the agent schedules field visits around the clock and picks the technician based on real-time availability. Salesforce says booking drops from 15 minutes to seconds. It fits field service businesses: maintenance, installation, distribution.

Dynamic plans. The service rep assistant builds a resolution plan and adjusts it as the case moves. PowerSchool runs it with more than 550 users.

Data: Tableau Knowledge and context for agents

Tableau Knowledge pulls together structured and unstructured data, builds knowledge graphs and hands them to agents as context. You query it in natural language, and Tableau adds an agent inside dashboards (Salesforce). Salesforce has not published figures for this feature.

Data 360 adds metrics that measure how precise the context is when agents retrieve information (Salesforce Developers). That helps you tell whether an agent answers badly because of the model or because of the data it gets.

For the technical team: everything as an API, MCP tool or CLI command

The core idea of Winter '27 for developers is that every major Salesforce capability is available as an API, an MCP tool or a CLI command (Salesforce Developers). The highlights:

  • Claude Code plugin. Salesforce published the Salesforce Development plugin in the Claude Code marketplace, with skills and org context. We covered it in Claudeforce.
  • Agents working together. Multi-agent orchestration is now generally available, and Agentforce connects to agents on AWS, Azure and Google through the A2A standard.
  • More memory for Apex. The heap limit rises 66% for synchronous and 108% for asynchronous transactions (Salesforce Ben).
  • Web Console. A browser-based IDE built on VS Code for Web, now generally available.
  • ApexGuru. Scans Apex code for performance antipatterns and duplicate code.

What to check before December 1

These are the dates Salesforce published for developers (Salesforce Developers). The first two are almost here:

DateWhat changesWhat to do
October 20, 2026Requests to Gemini 2.5 models are reroutedReview agents and prompts configured with those models
October 28, 2026The temporary SF_TEMP_SHOW_SECRETS Salesforce CLI workaround endsUpdate any scripts that rely on it
December 1, 2026The Use Any API Auth permission is required for API accessAssign it to the users and integrations that need it
Summer '27SOAP login() retires for API versions 31.0 to 64.0Inventory older integrations
Summer '28API versions 31.0 to 40.0 retire, deprecated since Summer '27Move to a current version
NowSalesforce CLI requires Node.js 22 or laterUpdate workstations and deployment pipelines

The December 1 permission is the one that can hurt most: an integration that stops authenticating does not warn you, it just stops syncing.

What it means for Central America and Miami

WhatsApp as a work channel. In Central America, much of the relationship with distributors and customers runs on WhatsApp. A Sales Cloud agent built for that channel brings the CRM to where the conversation already happens.

Small teams covering many countries. Many companies run the region from Miami: according to the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, 1,200 multinationals have their Latin America headquarters there. Scheduled prospecting and human approval in Agentforce Engagement let a few people cover more markets without losing control of what goes out.

Voice, with a check first. A voice contact center in more than 30 countries can serve regional operations, but confirm country coverage and Spanish-language support before you commit to dates.
